I love this blog post from this middle school 3D printing class, in that it shows the value of not just teaching how to use software and hardware, but how to fix it too! When their 3D printer started malfunctioning, that itself became a class challenge and they figured out a DIY solution. It's a challenge I often run up against when I guest teach using PCs that come "as is", and while I've never run into a problem I couldn't personally fix, I wish I had the time to kick problem-solving to the class so kids see the value of learning to be an admin as well as learning to program.
