As I'm getting ready to teach App Inventor this upcoming June for the UVa Summer Enrichment Program, I'm putting together interesting facts and links about mobile apps that I'll post here over the next couple of weeks. For starters, did you know that in 2013, worldwide, 60 billion apps were downloaded? That while Google is the #1 search engine for desktop/laptops, new search engines, like Quixey, are springing up developed specifically for searching app information, allowing you to index and link to app data depending on what you are looking to find. Such as finding information about your favorite food, including recipes and restaurant links from your phone so that it displays formatted in a way easy to read on your phone. For a deeper overview of app history and trends, check out this presentation from the founder of Quixey.

And check out this creative app that uses your phone's recording capability (which is in App Inventor's functionality) to monitor mental health.
