Just a quick post about taking a STEAM approach to teaching technology to kids, adding "Arts" to "Science", "Technology", "Engineering", and "Math". Yes! I absolutely support this approach as the key way to introduce computer science. Teaching animation programming this summer I found tapping into artistry and storytelling naturally let kids be playful in their approach to coding. My favorite outtake from this article (which, btw, a big thanks to the Kodu GameLab for this facebook link):

"We must figure out how to create not just good test takers but innovators, creators and designers ...
It's natural that these content areas meld together... engineers must know how to draw - and nearly everyone started by learning ABCs through song..."
