Computer programming and game development for social good is a happening thing these days. Among my favorites are Random Hacks of Kindness, Giving, giving, gone (which includes a free game download you can play directly on your PC), and local city projects like this, that bring the public into the fold, where something as simple as bus ridership gives important data to transit planners about how to make public transportation better for us all.

Since the Coder Dojo school year is winding down, I'm gearing up for my upcoming UVa Summer Enrichment teaching schedule ;) I'll be devoting posts to this blog over the summer to questions and answers that come up during these sessions; I'm very excited to see what my fellow learners and I cook up ;) In preparation, I've developed a "See-cada" Alice demo and just finished up a person Kodu "bootcamp" to tune up my Kodu programming skills. I'll be posting new screencast videos later this week, so stay tuned.

Happy summer break to the Coder Dojo community! It was a great school year and all your hard work this year leaves us ready to pickup where we left off this coming fall.
