Now that we've reviewed how to add characters and create scenery in Kodu, take a look at this video to check out the "change world settings" to add the finishing touches to your project. I'd recommend for the camera control, you always change it to "fixed option" from "free" (the default) to make the motion you program easier to follow.

I ran across this website while reading about "embodied learning", the computer science equivalent of contextual learning, the idea that the richer the environment and the more "real life", the deeper the learning potential. Given that computer science has a bad rap for being "boring and hard", I  think programs like these have great potential to attract and teach CS skills that "stick":
