While at the First Lego League finals held at James Madison University, I learned about 2 characters you can build, within Alice, that come complete with fluid 3D animation! Meaning, they move like you'd see characters move in a Pixar movie. To get to them, click on "add objects", then go to the "people" folder. Scroll all the way over to the right, and you'll see 2 characters, "hebuilder" and "shebuilder". When you click on one, you'll get a "person builder" pop up. From here, you'll see 4 properties of your person (body, skin/eyes, hair, clothing), and below, you'll see characteristics you can add by property by clicking on the "next" arrows. When you've made your selections, give your character a name and save.
Now, you'll see the name of your character on the left sidebar, under "World". Highlight it, go to "methods", and you'll see custom animation methods: "hello", "angry", "happy", "walk", "confused", "idle", "no", "yes", "stand", "showallanimations". Drag one over to your code editor and hit "play", and see the character come alive! You can also add all the usual animation methods that come with the other characters ("move", "turn", etc).
