3D printing for social good

Wow; the Northrop Grumman 3D printing initiative, "Enabling the Future", has got everything I so believe that technology can offer to make the world a better place! They use crowd sourcing to solve serious real world needs, teach kids new technology, and give educators concrete ways to justify bringing expensive tools to the classroom that absolutely will create engineers of the future. And who can't love an initiative that quotes e.e. cummings?

"Now all the fingers of this tree...have hands, and all the hands have people; and more each particular person is ... alive than every world can understand"

And, we have a project here in Charlottesville, at Charlottesville High School and I'm lucky enough to have a kid I mentor be a part of this after school club, so I'll check it out directly and tell you more about it soon.
