Can you believe 3D technology now involves food? It makes sense based on this Army research, where sensors on soldiers read their nutritional state, which is transmitted to a 3D printer to produce the exact "power bar" supplements to get them through difficult fighting conditions. You could take this further, as well, where simple 3D printers on site at hospitals and nursing homes could improve nutrition provided to critically ill non-verbal patients, right?
Also this week, check out the Fall of the Berlin Wall Google Doodle; it's a great multi-media project, combining animation with pictures and video, which some of you Scratchers should find familiar in what the Scratch platform lets you do, too. Since those of you who took my app building class this past summer know you can embed a Scratch project onto a blog or website, I hope you think about using Scratch to build school projects. If you have, please let me know; I'd love to see them ;)
