Starting next Saturday, for the next 5 weeks, I'll be posting short video tutorials about working in Scratch 2.0 and App Inventor. They're meant to support the stuff we cover in my "Mobilize and Reach out and Create a Phone App" class for the UVa Saturday Enrichment Program, but will be general enough so that anyone interested in these applications should be able to follow along. To start, I've created an intro video about using the Scratch 2.0 image editor, which includes a demonstration about how to use the new "Backpack" feature that allows you to create custom characters and then make them available to use in any new Scratch projects you build. Also, check out this link for pixal art templates for custom sprite ideas.
