Hope everyone is having a great summer! I just wrapped up teaching animation programming at the UVa Summer Enrichment and can't thank the kids involved enough (48 total animators); we all learned lots of new ways to use Scratch, Alice and Kodu. Please check out the wiki we used (credentials = acdojo for both username and password). We uploaded projects to it (go to "Pages and Files",which if isn't visible, click on the first icon on the top Right of the page, and select "unhide wiki controls". You'll see "pages and files" on the far left sidebar), beefed up the "Cool Animated Shorts" page with new animated short clips, as well, the Summer Enrichment class added their own wiki page, "Animator's Corner ...", where they posted links to animated shorts they found while looking for inspiration for their own projects.
I'm looking forward to the start of the school year and jumping back in with Coder Dojo labs. Over the summer, I've created several games using Scratch and Kodu to teach "Social Good", games that teach awareness of how we can make the world a more peaceful, connected place. I'll roll out some new lesson plans using them, so can't wait to hear what you think! Check out this recent New York Times article about this movement. What social problems do you think we can use technology to fix?
